The Board of Investment of Sri Lanka signed an agreement with Star Class Hotel (Pvt) Ltd., to set up 67 room 5-star hotel which will be located at Mavilamada Road, Kandy.

The Agreement was signed by Mangala Yapa, Chairman of the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka and Mohamed Nazar Mahamed Rizan, Managing Director of the Company.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed for the first cable car project in Sri Lanka to be built in Nuwara Eliya today (October 13). The Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB) is aggressively working to promote Sri Lanka by investing Rs. 1.5 billion.

To this end it has identified five clusters which generate highest number of arrivals including the countries such as USA, UK, France, Germany, Italy and Belgium with concentrating more on European market.

Sri Lanka approves hotels with investments of US$23.3mn in June

Sri Lanka’s tourism regulator has approved 16 new hotel projects worth 23.30 million US dollars in the second quarter of 2019, most of which did not start construction following the Easter Sunday terror, official data showed.

All new hotels approved will have less than 49 rooms each, a Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) report said.
